These are the rules for using Hall Pass. By creating an account you're agreeing to them.
Use your real name, your real age, and recent photos of yourself. Don't impersonate anyone, don't use someone else's photos, and don't post a profile for a person who isn't you.
We can remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules. In serious cases we'll do it without warning.
We verify that people are students. We do not verify that they are safe. A .edu address confirms someone is enrolled somewhere. It says nothing about their character, their honesty, or their criminal history. We don't run background checks.
Meeting a potential roommate means meeting a stranger. Meet in public first. Tell someone where you're going. Trust your instincts and leave if something feels off. Never send money or a deposit to someone you haven't met.
Use Report and Block whenever something is wrong. Reports are reviewed and we act on them.
Hall Pass introduces people. We are not a party to any lease, sublet, room agreement, or payment you arrange with someone you meet here. We don't screen housing, we don't hold money, and we don't mediate disputes between roommates. Read anything before you sign it.
Your photos and words stay yours. By posting them you give us permission to display them inside Hall Pass so the app can do its job — nothing more. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we're required to keep something for safety or legal reasons.
Don't post content you don't have the right to post.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service entirely — if we shut down, we'll give you notice and a chance to get your data first.
We work hard to make Hall Pass useful, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that you'll find a roommate through it. To the extent the law allows, Hall Pass is provided without warranties, and our liability to you is limited to what you've paid us — which, since the app is free, is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Hall Pass after that means you accept the new version.
